A catch-all email mailbox receives emails sent to non-existent email addresses under the same domain. For example, a message sent to the misspelled suport@domain.com will be delivered to support@domain.com if the catch-all feature has been activated for the latter. In this way, you can get email messages from pals or clients who may have sent a message to your email address with a spelling error or to an outdated one, which they may still have, but you have already deactivated. Just one mailbox per domain name can be a catch-all one and email forwarding cannot be set up for such a mailbox. This is due to the fact that at some point you may begin receiving spam messages in the catch-all mailbox and the forwarding restriction means that the spam will not be received in a 3rd-party mailbox.

Catch-all Emails in Hosting

If you’ve got a Linux hosting with our company and you wish to enable the catch-all functionality for a certain email mailbox that you’ve got in the account, it’ll take literally only one click of the mouse in the Email Manager section of your Hepsia hosting Control Panel to achieve that. A catch-all button is available to the right of each email address that you have created under any domain name hosted in the account. You can choose one single address per domain name by clicking on the respective button. This will activate the feature instantaneously, so all emails sent to misspelled addresses will be received there. Clicking on the button once again will deactivate the catch-all feature. If you’ve got activated email forwarding, our system will show a warning note and you won’t be able to enable the catch-all feature until you delete the forwarding or you can simply pick a different mailbox to be the catch-all one.

Catch-all Emails in Semi-dedicated Servers

The in-house built Hepsia hosting Control Panel that comes with each and every semi-dedicated server package that we are offering will permit you to set up a catch-all mailbox without any difficulties even in case you don’t have much web/email hosting experience. All you need to do to accomplish that is click the catch-all icon, which will be on the right-hand side of each email address that you have set up using your domains in the hosting Control Panel’s Email Manager section. As you can have just one mailbox with this feature per domain name, our system will warn you if you have already set up another catch-all mailbox or if the one that you wish to use has email forwarding enabled. In case you decide that you do not need the feature anymore, you can deactivate it by clicking once again on the same icon. The Email Manager section will also permit you to view your catch-all mailboxes at a glance.
