An Operating System is the software which communicates with the hardware of a computer and serves as the intermediary between the installed applications and the hardware, including peripheral devices such as a printer, a mouse or a keyboard. When you run an application, it sends requests to the OS through an API (Application Program Interface) and the communication is done through a command line or a Graphical User Interface (GUI). A lot like a personal computer, hosting servers also feature an Operating System that serves as a host for any software installed on them, which includes script applications or server-side software such as a flash server, a VOIP server, and so on. A virtual machine can be created on a physical one, so you can install a guest OS on it and have a different system environment in contrast with the physical server host OS.

Multiple OS in VPS Servers

We offer you three different Linux releases for the Operating System of our VPS servers - Debian, CentOS and Ubuntu. These are some of the safest and the most reliable OSs available and we provide all three of them rather than only 1 because we realize that you might want to install some software that has specific requirements for the Operating System it'll run on. The latter is because each of the three Operating Systems has a large support community behind it and there're different software programs you can install on the server. Your OS choice will also determine what hosting Control Panel can be set up on the VPS if you wish to use one and for that reason we offer multiple Control Panels as well. In the event you decide that you want another OS, our tech support team can quickly wipe the current one and install the one that you need. In addition, we offer an optional service to maintain the OS on your VPS updated weekly.

Multiple OS in Dedicated Servers

The dedicated servers that we offer come with three different Operating Systems as we want to offer you more versatile plans that will enable you to install and run any web software regardless of its system requirements. Your options are CentOS, Debian and Ubuntu and these 3 OSs are among the most reliable and secure ones, not mentioning that they don't have any license fees. All three have lots of developers who have created numerous software packages that you may install and use on your web server. We also offer three web hosting Control Panels and which one you can use is determined by the Operating System that you select when you sign up. In case you need a new OS later, it will not be a problem because we can always reinstall your machine. With our Managed Services package we can also keep your OS secure by updating it every week with all patches that are released for it.
